It is with great sadness that Ainsdale Cricket Club shares the news of the passing of long-standing club member John Mayers.

John was a valued member of the Ainsdale family and had been part of the club for many decades. He was a familiar and much loved face around the club, particularly in the bar, where he could often be found chatting with members from all sections of the club and, of course, keeping an eye on the football.

John’s warmth, character and longstanding connection with the club meant he was known and fondly remembered by many members, both past and present. He will be greatly missed by everyone at Ainsdale.

At the request of John’s family, we are sharing details of his funeral for those who knew John and would like the opportunity to pay their respects.

Funeral details:
Monday 5th October
12:30pm
West Lancashire Crematorium
Pippin Street, Ormskirk

The funeral will be followed by the wake at Ainsdale Cricket Club.

Our thoughts are with John’s family and friends at this very difficult time.

Rest in peace, John. You will be sadly missed.
